Combined (dry/wet) cooling solutions
LESS WATER, MORE POWER BY MVM EGI

OPTIMIZING COOLING SYSTEMS FOR EFFICIENCY AND ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY

While wet cooling systems are known for their high efficiency in the power generation cycle, they also come with certain environmental challenges. The continuous evaporation of cooling water can lead to visible humid plumes, contributing to fog formation and road icing in colder climates. The substantial amount of make-up water is required for these systems to cover evaporation and blow-down, competing with water resources that are critical for municipal, industrial, and agricultural use. The treatment of blow-down water also presents an environmental challenge.

To address these concerns, MVM EGI offers combined wet and dry cooling systems.

Hybrid cooling takes advantage of both wet and dry methods, improving performance and reducing common issues.

These systems integrate dry and wet cooling sections, where intense mixing of air streams from both sections helps reduce plume formation and optimize discharge air conditions. This approach minimizes the environmental impact of cooling towers while maintaining cooling efficiency.
