MVM EGI's subsidiary, MVM EGI Cooling Technologies (China) Co. Ltd., has successfully secured a new project and contract for the Changle III power plant, a 2x1000 MW facility. This advanced dry cooling system will be constructed in Gansu Province. The implementation of dry cooling technology is essential for reducing the power plant's water consumption, a critical factor in the water-scarce Gobi Desert region.
Situated approximately 62 km northeast of Guazhou County in Jiuquan City, Gansu Province, the Changle Power Plant is a 6,000 MW thermal power project developed by Shanghai Electric Power Construction Co. and owned by Gansu Province Electric Power Investment Group Corporation. Upon completion, it will stand as one of the largest and most efficient thermal power projects in Northwest China. The success of this power plant holds a pivotal role in industrial integration, driving economic growth, and fostering sustainable development in the local economy.
The awarded project, along with the dry cooling solution, aims to enhance the operational safety, reliability, and overall competitiveness of the Changle power plant. This significant milestone is a testament to the progress of MVM EGI and MVM, marking a substantial stride forward in the international energy market. Moreover, it underscores the advancement of the sustainable, water-efficient energy sector, to which MVM EGI and its subsidiaries are dedicated representatives.
